Introduction
With regards to Krohn (2009), Oprah Gail Winfrey was born on 29th January in a small town named Kosciusko located in central Mississippi. By overcoming low self-esteem, poverty, and abuse in her early childhood years, she has risen and arched out a place for herself in times gone by. She has been awarded numerous awards and gained the respect of millions of people due to her self-confidence, courage, wisdom and genuine nature. For this reason, she is viewed as an influential, authentic and transformational leader of our times. Oprah strives to see a change in the world we live in and continually helps the society. Winfrey is globally recognized as one of the most successful women in the present day.

As exemplified by Krohn (2009), Oprah is in no doubt confident to share her personal stories about her pain and joy. She shares her feelings, secrets, and confidence problems as well as her weight struggles. These are issues many people can identify with. Hence, many people open up to her due to her trustworthy and humanity spirit. Oprah was praised by Nelson Mandela of rising above this life’s adversity to become a benefactor to many. It is through this attribute that saw her win the Bob Hope Humanitarian award in 2002. Oprah dared to dream big and confident enough to rise step by step. Oprah demonstrates this quality whereby she does not take impartiality and humanitarian concerns lightly. Her record for patronage and fighting for the common good is incomparable. In view of the fact that she initiated the National Child Protection Act in 1991 to changing millions of lives for the better through edification with schemes such as The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls based in Henley on Klip, she has demonstrated the power of one strong leader with a positive impact on many lives. It is through this attribute that saw the creation of Oprah's Angel Network in 1998 that supports charitable projects and provides grants to NPO globally. Also, Oprah created the Oprah Angel Network Katrina registry in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, which raised over eleven million dollars for reprieve efforts.
