Over the past decade the dating arena has experienced a dynamic shift; from meeting other singles through friends, local bars, interest groups, or even through work, to now going online to meet a potential mate. In the past there was a stigma about online dating, however it is now an acceptable channel used to meet a potential life partner. In the dating arena today people from all age groups and walks of life now use online dating services to find potential romantic partners, however very few individuals succeed with the online dating services currently available.
In the market today there are a handful of dating sites with recognizable names, those with successful marketing campaigns; however, there are more failed dating websites than there are successful ones. This occurs because most dating sites offer the same boiler plate services; few stand out with extraordinary options for clients. “There are more than 2,500 online dating services online in the U.S. alone, with 1,000 new online dating services opening every year,” (Zwilling, 2013).
