However, I have come to terms with the ineffective ways of attempting to be a nonconformist. No matter where you go, turn, or look. There will be conformity, as the very act of nonconformity is in fact conforming to a set of rules, or ways of not conforming. The term nonconformist then becomes an oxy-moron.
This articles inspire me by my own past of attempting the nonconformist lifestyle. It helped clarify that which I already know about the ineffective way that nonconformity plays out in and with society. Also, it brought to light the chemical responses in our brains pointing out that conformity is more about science, and social behavior.
Conformity, it may be instinct over social dynamic, but it keep us grounded and safe as the pack in the wild. Cellular memory is an interesting thing to consider. That which makes up out bodies, also drives our minds and thoughts. Conforming is not so much about fitting in, or about having the newest “thing”, or there by being the most popular. It is at its base and most basic, about belonging and the safety that a group dynamic provides on an instinctive level. As I have been a part of the “nonconformist group”, I hope those that come after me see the folly of that way of life, only to find a better way, a more logical way, the realistic ideal that breaks down the very nature of nonconformity as oxy-moronic at its basic definition of
