In "Hey! Parents, Leave Those Kids Alone. “Hana Rosin shares her views on the overprotective behaviour of parents towards their children and its effects on the development of the kids. The author starts by explaining about old age adventure playgrounds and their significance in making a child aware of the risks and dangers involved while doing any fun task independently. She emphasises on the thought by giving views of a landscape architect, according to which, playgrounds should be designed in such a way “that kids could move around and manipulate to create their own makeshift structures.” (Rosin, 77).…
“Backyard Patio” - Here MADD focus on how impaired driving cannot only be dangerous to the impaired person, but can be fatal to others as well. An outdoor birthday party is depicted, and, as the candles on the cake are being blown out, a car drives thorough a wood fence and into the patio. Multiple members of the celebration are shown lying on the ground, while one is calling for help, explaining that at least one person is “not breathing.” MADD again utilizes the method of showing how impaired driving can completely alter an event, and ultimately, people's lives. At one moment, the people pictured are enjoying a birthday celebration, while at the next, at least one person is likely to have been fatally injured.…
“Children learn best through their everyday experiences with the people they love and trust, and when the learning is fun. And the best place for these experiences is outdoors, in the natural world.” ~ Center for Families, Communities, Schools and Children’s Learning 15. " In the woods we return to reason and faith."…
Most of these activities are outdoors and rely on what nature has to offer for fun. Most children who go away to summer camps come from cities and suffer from “nature deficit disorder” to the narrow experience of modern indoor life. Outdoor experiences enrich kid's perceptions of the world and support healthy child development. The outdoors also offer the opportunity for diverse activities, most of which are physical. Although the children may not immediately appreciate being active, their bodies and minds will appreciate the fresh air and exercise.…
At the Woodlands Country Club, I am lucky enough to monitor and interact with the members' children. With the help of coworkers, I design and adapt various games and activities to play with the youngsters. Artistic projects, physically active games, and educational tasks are a few examples of the proposals we expand upon. At heart, I still am a young child, and the chance to be creative in developing ideas is uplifting. My positive interactions with the children has gained the trust of their parents, and as a result I am frequently asked to come to their homes individually and tend their children.…
Rosin’s article begins at ‘The Land’; an unconventional playground constructed with recycled materials only. There are no slides or swings, or any other objects normally found on playgrounds. Children are left to play and move things around as they please, and the employed “playworkers” only intervene if there is a serious risk of someone getting hurt. The Land was built by landscape architect Lady Marjory Allen in the 1940s to encourage children to face various risks and then overcome them on their own, “That, […], is what builds self-confidence and courage.”…
Playwork Principles 3-9 1.1 The drive for children to play is inbuilt in our genetic makeup, almost an instinct or an impulse. Children learn through play their world around them. As the Play work principle No1 states: ‘’ All children and young people need to play. The impulse to play is innate.…
The rapid economic development has impacted our life tremendously. Life is getting much easier and more convenient thanks technology and quick accessed information. However, we do not have everything for granted, we have been working so hard for it. As parents, we spend more time working to bring home money and at the same time dealing with the stress of keeping the job. Consequently, we spend less time with our family, especially with our children, to play with our children or read them a good story.…

Children are our future and I strongly believe that their experiences in early childhood will mold who they become later on in life. As a early childhood educator I believe it is our responsibility to provide a supportive, loving environment that will encourage a child’s growth early on so they will have a positive start to future development. I want to strive to foster children's interests, reinforce strong feelings of self, acceptance for others, and encourage them to continue on with activities that make them happy and will build a foundation to becoming a lover of learning; whether the learning comes from reading stories or playing soccer. I want inspire their exploration of the world, not just the one around them, by introducing them to…
Rare accidents on playgrounds have caused us to be tense and worrisome. Plus, lawsuits and complaints have led us to adding more and more regulations on slides, toys, and even the ground where kids play. Have we gone too far on holding our kids back from fun? Hanna would say that making all these restrictions on a child’s free time and enjoyment doesn’t reduce the amount of injuries, but just reduces the child’s creativity that came with the old ways of play. All and all, is it better for our kids to freely learn, experience things, and grow into adults instead of being so tightly restricted and scared by life?…
There is no place for children to run and play, and the public school system in Little Tokyo is suffering partly due to this lack of green space. These students and the members of the community deserve a public park rather than having to congregating in open space in the built environment. They have to be creative in their urban land use in accommodation for nature in the neighborhood by not only focusing on environmental scales but also the built environment. (“The Face of Little Tokyo Is Changing” by Valentina Cardenans and Gayle…
Considered a basic right of every child by the United Nations High Commission for Human rights, the importance of play is demonstrated through the mental, emotional, and social benefits it provides. Thus, the purpose of play is to be a multi-purposeful activity that is vital for all areas of development. Play expands beyond simply being an enjoyable activity; it provides cognitive enrichment like that provided in structured activities and provides additional benefits outside of intellectual development that are often left out of organized…
Playgrounds….playgrounds are a great part of childhood. They give joy and excitement to the young boys and girls that climb, slide, and explore them. The most familiar thing about playgrounds are the children and then swings. The annoying sound of the creaky chains moving back and forth. However, ever since I was 15 years old, it's haunted me to the bone.…
