My Speech On Teaching Older Students Essay

Everyone constantly tells me that I always have a smile on my face, and that I am so wonderful with kids. I think I am like that because I care so much about them, and they are just so great to interact with. I can always count on kids to put me in a better mood or get my mind off things because they always have something to talk about and always have so much energy. For that reason, I adore being around kids and want the best for them. I have had wonderful teachers, and I have also had terrible teachers in my time. I want to be that teacher that will go above and beyond by making sure every student is learning and enjoying it. When I was growing up and knew for sure that I wanted to be a teacher, it never had crossed my mind to be a junior high or high school teacher. I have always just wanted to be an elementary teacher. Just thinking about teaching older students makes me not want to teach anymore because I would not be able to handle them. When students get older, they start talking back and some decide to sleep in class and not do their homework. I do not want to deal with any of that. At a younger age, most kids enjoy coming to school; at least I know that I did. It is a lot easier to get the kids involved in elementary because then they can do a bunch of crafts and entertaining activities and games. I love being creative and coming up with games to play, and that is why elementary is the right place for me. It is not that I think I like working with children, I…
