Reflective Essay: What Is The Word Success?

On the surface this question may seem odd, but she had realised in the hour or so, she had spoken with me, I allowed people to know what I wanted them to know. Even with close friends and family, I was not always honest about my feelings. However, this has changed. It did not happen straight away but one step at a time. As I run my seminars, or as I am now doing in this book, I realised the more I shared my experiences, in an honest and opened way, they were impacting the lives of others in a positive way. The people that I worked with one- to- one or in small groups became motivated, and soon realised too had the skills within them to make changes in their lives to benefit them. I was able to work with members of my immediate department and the students to help develop and carry out actions that would increase the department’s results in the forthcoming GCSE and BTEC examinations. As we worked together we started to see things which were challenges before being solved, and solved more quickly. This leads me into step five. The final step in my five step strategy is SUCCESS.
What does the word success mean to you? The word success will mean different things to different people according to their own personal experiences. For me the word success is a verb and not a noun. Success for me describes a journey rather than a destination. It is a process of events that have happened in my life and the subsequent choices that I have made. There have also been specific achievements in my life where I will say that I have been successful, like when I passed my NPQH and also my MA Education.
If you were to reflect on your past, you will be able to list several things that you have done that you were successful in. By the end of this chapter I am hoping that you will be able to add other things to your list you have been able to achieve because you have become motivated to take
