Success is usually referred to as an abstract subject with a different meaning for everyone. However, success is a word, which like any word has a definition. The 4th Edition of the American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language defines success as "The achievement of something desired, planned, or attempted". As a result, it follows that in order to achieve success, something must first be attempted, planned or desired. Their goals surrounded who they want to work for, where they want to work and how much they want to make. However, I had never connected success particularly to a career. While it is possible and arguably easier to measure compared to other forms of success, I believe that the journey to "top" was something that would be unimportant when looking back. I find this because getting a lot of money or working for a big company is completely unremarkable about 2 days after your death and the news reels move on the something more interesting. However, in order to actually make an impact on the world as a whole, one would have to impact the lives of people in a meaningful way. Notable examples of this are innovators like Steve Jobs or Larry Page. They did not just build tech empires otherwise they would be as memorable as the people who built the first papermills. Instead, their products meaningfully impacted and continue to impact the lives of people everyday. Hence, I decided that in order to achieve personal success, I would need to do something of magnitude and meaning that probably improved the everyday lives of everyday
