When I was in third grade I didn`t really talk to anyone and I had problems staying awake because I was always sleepy until I found out that I was doing bad in school then I decided to start talking and do my work then my grade increased a lot I was proud of myself and my parents were proud of me I felt like I had won. The lesson that I learned was to do my work and talk better, now that’s gotten me in trouble now I talk too much. And one of my questions that I asked was, if you communicate with others could that mean you could be successful? As well as if you communicate could that mean that you and the one you’re working with have the same work

Malcolm Gladwell’s Outliers illuminated countless aspects of society and “success” that are rarely addressed. Practice and hard work are often forgotten once the goal or feet has been achieved. Reading through this list the first time, there were 5 quotes with which I could relate; all of these quotes referred to strong work ethic and the advantages toward one’s future that follow. For this reason, I had to go through them again and really think about which one would be most applicable to me as I look for success in my own life: “Hard work is a prison sentence only if it does not have meaning. Once it does, it becomes the kind of thing that makes you grab your wife around the waist and dance a jig.”…

As far back as I can remember, reading has always been a tremendous part of my life. Growing up, my mother introduced reading as one of the most important skills I could learn. Throughout my childhood, my entire family constantly incorporated reading into my daily schedule by helping me complete word searches, reading books, or rehearsing the ABC’s. Every night before bed, my mother and I would read a page out of a children’s bible book called Blessings Every Day as opposed to the classic Green Eggs and Ham. Reading has taught me how to exercise my imagination, how to effectively communicate with others, and relieves my stress.…

One thing that I always hear about myself is how much of a balanced person I am. At first I thought this had to do with my physical ability to balance and that wasn't it. The balance that I identify with is the ability to balance time and effort between my academics, my athletics, and social life. I find myself doing this better and better every year, as I am faced with more strenuous work loads and more responsibilities in my athletics. The teachers and coaching staff at renbrook have helped me become a lot more independent when it comes to managing my own time.…
