I was born in Burlington, Ontario and lived there for most of my childhood. At 9 years old, my family and I moved to Oshawa, Ontario where I currently am still living in. My parents, as well as their parents, were born Newfoundland, Canada. Both of my parents come from hard working fishing families and from the countless times of visiting Newfoundland, I can say that Ontario and Newfoundland are vastly different in terms of culture, history, and way of living. With the help of teachers and a whole lot of practice, I began to communicate better to others. As the survey above suggests that, I am a capable communicator but occasionally experience communication problems really sum up who I am. I try to communicate as best and as clear as I can to people in order for them to effectively take in what I am saying to them.

A few ways that I am going to improve my communication skills is to listen more clearly, write things down, try to be briefer yet still stay specific and read over anything I write. I feel that if I work on these few things, I can better my communication skills.

Where work teaches you many skills as well such as independence, responsibility, customer service, time management, cultural awareness, working under pressure and so forth. I feel I have obtained some knowledge of these schools by working over the past 6 years as well as being in school.

My life experiences have been similar to most people my age, the same financial struggles of university’s and the same stresses of life. However, I have been lucky enough to experience many things, which I many people do not get to do, such as VIP boxes for soccer, hockey, racecars, etc. I have also travelled quite a bit for someone my age, as I have been to Europe, Australia, LA, Texas, Caribbean, around most of Canada as well. One reason I love travelling so much is you get to see other people’s way of life, even if it is a province or a country away many cultural or societal differences may
