They were separated and treated completely different from white people, one could say they were treated like animals. It took years for mankind to learn that the color of your skin does not make you different from the next person. In fact, we learned that every human being is almost the same.…

Discrimination, prejudice, and racism occurred many times in the past and it still occurs today. It happens in many different ways, in many different forms, at many different times, and to many different people. People do it even though it is cruel, they do it because they don’t realize it is wrong, they are going through bad times, or they are brainwashed into doing these things. An example of these that is well know is Adolf Hitler when he was in charge of the Holocaust.…

People enjoy bringing others down by telling them they can't do something and they can even try to brainwash them , make them think negative about themselves and even bring their self esteem down. But some of those people don't let the others bring them down because they like to prove those people wrong, just like Vincent Van Gogh once said “If you hear a voice within you say, ‘You cannot paint’ then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced.” Vincent Van Gogh was a dutch post impressionist painter from 1853 to 1890. Kafoumba Doumbia Sociology 100 10/20/2016 Discussion 7 We often define race as category or group of people having same traits that set them apart. I will have to agree with the sociologists thinking that race is social construct. Biologically speaking, it's just as possible for a given white person in random state here in the United States to have his genetics similar to a black person living somewhere in Africa. Race is something that is arbitrarily decided by society and date from centuries, in time of slavery and segregation.…

People judge each other every day, without realizing they are doing it. The judgement of people who are different has become a natural instinct. Even though racism has changed from white people owning African Americans, they are still being judged as the lower class. Unfortunately people often view race as some huge difference between two types of people, this has been the case for some time, really the only way to fix this is for people to be around and understand others from different races. It’s very easy to point out the differences and bad things from another culture, so much so that we often fail to recognize that almost all people from different races are essentially the same. Most of this can be attributed to human nature, usually people are more comfortable being around others that are like them and share similarities, it shouldn’t be that way, but sadly it is. When I listen to these kids talk, I see that even at a young age they understand that there is an issue in the way races view and trust…
