Muggy Day Research Paper

Everything that happened on that muggy day. Everything that happened will never leave. It will haunt me forever like a ghost staring over its victims. I started praying to Allah, and didn’t stop. I prayed to Allah when I was in distress and most of all before I go to bed. Currently, I am the canoe house. The air is so heavy and moist, I struggle to breath. Four women and six children have died here. The odor of the rotting flesh invaded my head, I couldn’t take it anymore. We have to sleep in tight knit rows like sardines, I can hardly move my leg without

The sounds of gunfire were abundant like an intense hailstorm. The bullets crackled into the air, oblivious to their actual purpose. Each bullet fired eventually penetrating something, whether it was living or non-living. I wonder if the person pulling the trigger felt any emotions of compassion, sorrow, guilt or even regret. There was another death in my hometown of Ramadi, a father trying to protect his family from the jihadist group ISIS.…

Wars are a tragedy and something that should be avoided at all cost. Wars cause pain physically and emotionally to soldiers, families, and friends. There are not many differences between wars because all wars have the same objective; stop the guy who is trying to kill you. Possibly the only difference is how people are killing each other in the war with different combat gear that has evolved over time. Soldiers still face the brutality of war with having to face the enemy head on and to care about the man beside them.…

“There comes a time when the world gets[so] quiet and the only thing left is [the beating of] your own heart..." But my heart didn 't beat like the drumsticks of a snare drum solo champion, nor it didn 't beat like an infant coming into the world, but it was still. It was steady. So, I close my eyes as the beats of my heart fills my ears and breath stills like ASDFGHJKL and I brace for impact. As a child we are always told to be thankful for what we have, to be kind and to be caring, to be grateful for this thing we call life, and to never waste a day because as we bent down on our knees reciting the bedtime prayer that is engraved in our minds to set our self to sleep someone woke up that day not knowing the bed they would lay in would be a 12x12 inch metal cubical in a cold silent morgue.…
