Cc's Scare-Personal Narrative Essay

Improved Essays
CC's Scare You never really cherish life until you almost see one lost, human or pet. I began to cherish life when my cat, CC, almost lost his. About 4 years ago, my mother, sister, and I were on our way to my grandma's house, and when we arrived, we found an unexpected visitor. My mother killed the car and we began to hear a weird noise. "Meooowwww." Immediately we knew something wasn't right. "That's CC's meow," my sister said. Stepping out of the car, we see my cat, hobbling out from under the vehicle, on the verge of death. With knotted fur, cut paws, and wounds all over his body. My uncle, who was outside when we arrived, picked up the injured cat and somehow wrestled him inside the house. CC was hissing and resisting, but we …show more content…
After about an hour of studying where the wounds were, how deep, and where he was on the truck, my uncle had came to the conclusion that he had rubbed his feet on the asphalt, tried to get on the tire, and tried to get in the motor, which almost chopped his head off. Still unsure of his destiny we provided optimum care for our little friend. Even though we cared for him, his health continued to digress as the day grew older. “I don’t think he is going to make it,” Mom said in tears. My sister and I continued to try and calm her down, but she was so overwhelmed she could not; this was in fact her favorite animal. I too was afraid for his life; I just did not show it as much. After hours of trying, we finally got him to eat. I had to virtually shove it down his throat. I had my uncle contact the vet and she told us how we should care for him and prescribed ointment for his scrapes. 4 weeks went by and he showed no signs of improvement. Cc was only getting worse. Once again I contacted the vet and she was bumfuzzled over what was occurring. This is the end, I thought to myself. The family continued to nurture and comforts my cat for a while, sort of like cat hospice. Our hearts were slowly sinking, and our minds patiently wondering when, or if, he was going to make …show more content…
While the rest of the family continued to search, my dad snuck off upstairs. When he made it up there, my dad found that one of the doors had been left open. When the room was entered, my dad had found the same, but totally different, cat that had a brush with death not too long ago. Cc only looked slightly better, but he acted like he felt a whole lot better. My dad yelled for us to come up there quick. Scared half to death, I rushed up the stairs to find my dad holding my seemingly fine cat. I released a sigh so big they heard it at the International Space station. I was so thankful that Cc was ok and that he was most likely going to make it out alive. A few months later, he was 100% back to normal, and my family was all so relieved that the cat was alright. Myself, as well as a few others, learned some very valuable lessons during this tragic occurrence. I learned to truly cherish life, as it can be taken away in the blink of an eye. My family as a whole became more observant, it always pays to do the extra things like checking cars for animals. I fully believe God has a reason for this happening, He truly taught us many valuable
