1. How important is effective communication in this job?
This question is important as it will allow me to assess how communication is viewed at MTC and the role it plays in the day to day business operations.
2. On a scale of 1-5 (1 being low & 5 being high) how would you rate the communication skills of the staff that you supervise?

4. What sort of communication issues/problems typically arise on the job?
To further assess the root cause of the miscommunications, I need to know exactly how miscommunication occurs by looking at the problems that occur on the job. This will help me to determine the communication problems that exist.
5. Are workplace issues/conflicts resolved fairly and quickly? How much time and effort are required to fix the issues/conflicts that occurred due to miscommunication?
Having a thorough understanding of how issues/conflicts are dealt with is important to analyze and estimate whether training is worth it. To determine this, the first step is to estimate how much these miscommunications are costing the company.
6. What is the primary method(s) of communication between employees?
Communication in the workplace is important as is understanding how employees interact with each other. To design the training program, I need to know how employees communicate with each other on a daily basis.

I need to be able to reach all the employees in my target audience.
10. How likely and quickly did your manager/supervisor to respond to your complaints or concerns that you might have brought up in the past?
My goal in this question is to determine if that lack of response is due to miscommunication, that is, the manager/supervisor doesn’t understand what the problem is due to language barriers.
Needs Assessment Survey Analysis
To analyze the survey results of this assessment I will look for recurring themes. Nine of the ten questions are open-ended questions, so there’s “no structure for the respondent’s response” making each respondent’s answers unique. (Beebe, Mottet, Roach, 2013, p. 65). Therefore, I have to look for patterns when analyzing the results of the survey. This means that the survey results will be sorted based on the frequency with which a theme occurs and be put into different categories based on those themes. The survey results that have the most recurring themes are the topics that will be addressed in the training
