Mottos In the dictionary a motto is defined as a brief statement used to express a principle, goal, or idea. People use mottos as a way to get through life when they are forced to make tough decisions. It is only when he finds himself incredibly sad that he realizes that the mirror is creating a false sense of hope that his parents will live again one day. Potter then goes to talk to his headmaster (principal) about how he is feeling. Headmaster Dumbledore tells Harry that this is a one-of-a-kind mirror and has caused many men to take their own lives because they gaze into the mirror for much too long, and wish for what they see to be true. Harry could not get over his desire to have his parents back, and forgot to enjoy what was actually going on in his life. There are plenty of other times this motto has applied to my life.
This past year my dad and I haven’t had the greatest relationship. We fight constantly. We got into a fight once that was so bad that we didn’t speak to each other for 5 months, and it has taken a huge toll on our relationship. We both said some awful things to each other; some of the things were way out of line. I
