A suggestion that I have if specifically, for the warehouse operations in Torrance, California that I’m currently managing, directly under a logistics manager that oversees the warehouse, shipping and dispatch group. The warehouse is offsite for the main facility which separates my group from the rest of our department. Currently I manage about eight-ten warehouse clerks. There are numerous functions at this warehouse, to keep focus on the target issue, I’m going to be just discussion the one option I suggest for a task that the stockroom handles.

These small items are perfect for what is called a two-bin system. Such items are staged at the assembly line on a peg board inside a bin, this providing the technicians an easy to retrieve system once they are ready for these small parts. During evaluating the use of two-bins, the monthly usage is evaluated and the data is used to launch the two-bin’s, with one month’s usage set up for each bin. That providing the technicians a flow of bin refills with a month’s span apart. Once bin number one is empty its sent to the warehouse to refill, and the technician begins using bin number two. When receiving the bin, the warehouse refills it within two weeks and sends it back to the assembly
