Mindful Breathing: Video Analysis

Mindful breathing is an exercise to let your mind completely relax from all the things that you could think of in the present time. Relaxing our minds let’s us focus on the current time, instead of your mind paying attention to something else. In the video, Jon Kabat-Zinn explains to us that during the present time, the mind pays attention to anything, for example worrying/planning your future and/or reminiscing about the past. This distracts us from the reality which is the present time. The present time is the only time where we can actually sink in what is going on around us. I feel like our exercise does work similarly. I have problems of paying attention in class by being distracted of other thoughts; but ever since we started this practice,
