To what extent is the mass media creating a bad influence on society?

Throughout the essay I will be discussing to what extent is the mass media creating a negative influence on society today. There are many positives as well as negatives but this essay will be focusing on the negatives. We expect the media to keep us up to date and entertained by informing us on what is happening around the world. However, the mass media has a huge negative influence on children and teenagers. At all ages the media is open for you to read and see, this however can cause a negative influence on different people from different age groups. The media has a huge audience, because of the growth of the electronic media it has now led to an unprecedented decentralisation of audiences. This means we can now, today, choose from a massive range of media, and consume it at times and places suitable to us.
