Muslims are just one example how the internet has made a whole ethnic group seem like terrible people. There are some bad muslims that have done terrible things that were terrible and hurt a lot of people. For example isis and 9/11 but when those events happened the news totally made every muslim sound like they were a terrorist and could not be trusted. The internet says a stereotypical american is lacking intellectual curiosity thus making them ignorant about other cultures, places, or anything outside of their own lives. Non Americans assume we are lazy couch potatoes that consume a very large amount of fast food. Which is not completely true for some of the american population. We have the most summer olympic gold medals than another country. So if somebody from another culture or country wanted to come visit America pulled facts about our culture and read some of those stereotypical facts about us americans they would think most of us just sit around all day, which is not true. In the previous three paragraphs I explained how modern american media is one faced on today’s current controversial topics. This is because most of the time the media is one sided on current topics on other cultures. I do NOT think cultures are accurately portrayed in today’s media. This still continues today because I bet if I opened a article about the police vs. black situations going on right now it would be completely one sided to one or the other side.
