McDonald’s McDonald’s is an American based fast food restaurant. McDonald’s came to life on April 15, 1955 in Des Plaines, Illinois. The founders were the late Richard McDonald, Maurice McDonald and Ray Kroc. Before McDonald’s came to what is was in 1955 it was something totally different. In 1937 Richard and Maurice’s father opened a food stand called the Airdome in Monrovia, California. The stand sold hot dogs, hamburgers, and drinks. In 1940 Maurice and Richard moved the Airdome to Bernardino, California and renamed the restaurant McDonald’s Barbeque. McDonald’s Barbeque had 25 menu items and majority of their products were barbeque. The McDonald brothers evaluated their business and noticed that the bulk of their profits came from hamburgers. The brothers closed down their business for a few months to reorganize their production system and items. When they reopened they had a simple menu that consisted …show more content…
Human capital is very important to a company and McDonalds has realized this. McDonalds put together a program to develop their leaders and future leaders. According to Denise Broz, McDonalds has focused on managing talent with more rigor and discipline, using strategic planning to align talent and business strategy, finding talent early in their career and investing in them, and using data to make decisions on facts. McDonalds’ talent strategy focus areas is a great way to bring value to their business, but I have ideas that might make this strategy even better. I would spend some time focusing on low performers. There might be a reason they are low performers. With the right motivation you can turn these employees into top performers and even leaders. If they don’t change because of their worth ethic you can work on weeding them out of the company. Either way you are adding value to McDonalds’ human capital or removing negative influences from your
