Martin Luther's 5 Solas Essay

In the midst of the unrighteous practices of the Catholic Church, a man named Martin Luther took a stand with five solas to represent God and bring reformation. The five solas included scripture alone, Christ alone, faith alone, grace alone, and for the glory of God alone. Before the ninetly five thesis had been written, Luther had been living the way of the five solas without knowing it. It all started back when Luther was caught up in a ferocious storm that lead Luther into making a promise with God to become a monk. Luther came to a realization of what coming to God should really be like. He realized that the church was brainwashing all these people that the way to God is through the church, but Luther was the only one that knew the truth. John 14:6 (NIV) says, “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father except through me.” When Luther came to this realization, he knew what he had to do was to stand up and fight against the church. All the work put in to change the church and to make people see who God really is, was all for the glory of God. Luther tries to teach to the people that the glory of God is no where to be found in the relics. Luther says that the relics bring glory to man instead of bringing glory to God. Instead of bring glory to the lord, the Catholic Church was actually taking the glory away from God. All the doings in the Catholic Church puts a huge focus on man, and takes the focus off of God and all he did for us. Again, in the end when the church demanded Luther to recant and he would not recant because that would basically be saying that all his teaching were never true and the church was right. Luther did what he did for the glory of God. That means, when he was told to do something for God, he would always be happy to
