Renaissance Argumentative Essay

I, the 95 theses, am the greatest thing to ever happen in the Renaissance. I produced a change throughout Italy and, unlike the corrupted priest, I let the truth be known and didn’t lie to the people. I began a revolutionary division even though I started out small, But I allowed change to happen with a greater cause. To begin, my story starts off as young Martin Luther was walking in a hell storm and promised the big man in the sky that he would become a priest and worship god in exchange for sparing his life. As Martin Luther's life went on, he was forced to move to a different city as a monk, where he helped those in need. When he was there he noticed the current priest Johann Tetzel was lying to the people in order to get their money by creating indulgences then selling them to the peasants saying they could pay off their sins or get family ‘out’ of hell when in reality it was just paper. That's Where I caused popes to excommunicate whole masses of people, I was the reason prince rebelled against emperors and why peasants began a bloody uprising. I was only a piece of paper written by a lowly monk who had no power within the church nor out of it yet I caused such a huge change during my time. That was written was about the practice of selling indulgences, the practice of deceiving common people and even the wealth of the pope. Oh boy did all of this last a long time, it started the revolutionary technology of printing and like a newspaper. If it wasn't for me there wouldn't be one type of church and there were more areas of literacy and education for all people and women were somewhat respected more, all of which allowed change to happen and create a more civilized and respected city.
