The area of budgeting that Superior Health targeted was expense budgets. Determined by Wolper (2013), “the expense budget addresses each expense category in the practice, support staff salaries and fringe benefits, fixed assets (building and capital equipment), consumable supplies, contracts, and purchased services”. (p. 271) Superior Health is concern with how much money they are spending on expenses. Therefore, if an organization does not keep track of their expenses, it could cause them to be in the red. Therefore, Superior Health made it a priority to monitor and track expenses so that they stay in the black and have the ability to serve their patients and the community that surrounds them. Superior Health’s philosophy is to never lay off workers to save money. Employees at Superior Health are valued and respected and will never lose a job to low funds in a budget. Therefore, we will target the expenses in the budget to save money and allow employees to keep their job. I believe management hires and do not fire due to money issues. Superior Health made the expenses budget a priority and effectively saved money in the budget by making lean cuts. The fourth area that Superior Health discussed and implemented was
