This is due to the fact that the people attending do not have to pay a vast amount for their education. Students that attend public schools do not have to pay for tuition, uniforms, and books. So, with the lack of constant income, due to rise in other government programs, such as defense; the schools will have to drop the programs that do not benefit the school financially. The first to go are the fine art programs, this is because they are seen as less important and a waste of money. Many schools are more invested in their sports programs because they can bring in more revenue for school districts. Art programs do not have weekly games that profit the school. For that fact schools are starting to pull the art programs, giving them more revenue to use on other programs such as sports. The only revenue that the fine art programs receive is from either selling their pieces or winning a competition. For the sports programs, there are many ways to make money. With the vast variety of sports, schools have a number of ways to receive profit. Just with one sports team, which has at least two home games a week, the schools can receive a sufficient profit. According to many school websites, the tickets for these games are five dollars when multiplied by the number of audience members, the total will quickly rise. Art can help a person to vent their emotions such as anger and anxiety (“Arts and early childhood developments”). Just sitting in an isolated room doodling to their heart's desire can instantly change their emotions. Another benefit of participating in art related activities is the boost to your self-esteem (“Creative Art Helps”). Being involved with these activities allows a person to travel and engage with others. The concept of sharing something that you are proud of and getting compliments on it can drastically change someone's confidence. Producing art that gets noticed and adored over by others is a boost that can overall change someone's outlook on their own art. Being proud of one thing can easily spark creativity that makes them want to make more. Seeing others get excited about their art inspires more, more masterpieces and more people sharing their own.
