There are essentially 2 settings in which you can contract MRSA:
1. Healthcare-associated (HA-MRSA) occurs in hospitals,
The skill of disclosing the proper and correct amount of information is tricky, and I question myself quite often regarding client notes that will be shared with probation officers or case workers. Personally, when I a working with court mandated clients I treat them as I would any other client. Although, as a professional counselor working in collaboration with probation representatives to assure these clients complete their required treatment, while receiving treatment under my care their personal information shared in sessions remains confidential. The 2014 ACA code of ethics it states, when confidential information must be shared we only disclose essential information (American Counseling Association [ACA], 2014, B.2.e).…
Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus For this assignment I have been asked to choose a pathogen, describe it and explain how the chain of infection can be broken. I have chosen Meticillen Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus. As a support worker in theatres MRSA can cause significant problems for us and for patients, therefore we have to have each patient screened before we operate and we have certain standard precautions we need to follow before, during and after surgery. Staphylococcus Aureus is a very common bacteria. Meticillen resistant staphylococcus aureus is a strain of this bacteria that is resistant to some antibiotics that are commonly used to treat staphylococcal infections.…
Ethical dilemmas and professional challenges surround us on a daily basis, how we respond to them is crucial to our professional career. In 2005, the American Counseling Association (ACA) published a document titled the ACA Code of Ethics which was designed to aid counselors in the ethical decision making process and, in response, “expand the capacity of people to grow and develop” (Alexandria, 2014, p. 3). Counselors are obligated to follow these sets of guidelines on a daily basis, in and out of the workplace, and will be reprimanded for violating any given rule. Currently I am interning at East Coast Counseling here in Greenville, NC.…

Food hygiene must be reliable in a care environment this is because older people and babies are at a risk of serious, and often deadly , complications if they contract food borne infection, such as ,salmonella, clostridium difficile and E coli. MRSA (methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus) is a type of bacterial infection that is resistant to a number of widely used antibiotics. This means it can be more difficult to treat than other bacterial infections. MRSA is usually connected with patients in hospitals and can also be discovered in the throat or nose or even in the skin of individuals in the community. It is not compulsory to treat MRSA organism.…
There are many things that medical personnel can do to cut the risk of spreading MRSA/VRE tremendously. Focus on medical asepsis (commonly called clean technique) which are the measures taken to control and reduce the number of pathogens present in an area or on an…
It is unfortunately quite a common infection in the United States and worldwide. Individuals who are hospitalized have the greatest risk of becoming infected. Improper hand washing, the lack of sterilization and disinfection, and not using the right personal protective equipment, as well as not using it effectively are the biggest reasons why nosocomial infections such as MRSA are spread in health care settings. I want to be a Dental Hygienist and in order to prevent the spread of MRSA in medical facilities we can start by always washing our hands in between everything we do. Instead of taking off our gloves and slipping into another pair we should be washing our hands in between every pair we switch to because the insides of gloves are wonderful, warm and moist environment for bacteria to flourish and grow in.…
Comparing Codes of Ethics The very nature of the counseling profession places professional counselors in close proximity with people, information, and influence. Due to this, ethical dilemmas can arise throughout the course of this work. To help aid in the protection of counselors, and to provide a framework for ethical practice, ethical codes have been developed and instituted within the profession. As Beuchamp and Childress stated (as cited in Calley, 2009), “in the counseling profession, ethical standards are required to protect clients, guide professional behavior, ensure the autonomy of professionals, increase the status of the profession, enhance the client 's and the community 's trust in the profession, and articulate collegial conduct between professionals,” (p. 476).…
When adhering to the client’s attitudes and beliefs, the ACA Code of Ethics addresses in F.2.a how supervisors must be aware of the multiculturalism and diversity. Also, in F.7.c, the code addresses how counseling educators must apply multiculturalism/diversity teachings into trainings, courses, and workshops to help educate professionals on multiculturalism. Lastly in section F.11. , it discusses multiculturalism/diversity within the counseling education and training programs. In F.11.a.…
I believe Johns Hopkins Hospital (JHH) Code of Conduct and Code of Ethics in Patient Care and Johns Hopkins Home Care Group Code of Ethics have some strengths and weaknesses. The strengths are that the codes are based upon the ethical principles—nonmaleficience, beneficence, respect for autonomy, and respect for persons that will try to ensure moral behavior by leadership and staff. The codes of ethics are the same for JHH leadership and staff. They are both being held to the same standards.…
As a Christian it is our duty according to the Great Commission in Matthew 28:16 to spread the Gospel (ESV). Yet, the American Counseling Association (ACA) Code of Ethics states that counselors are not to impose their values upon their clients (2014). The American Association of Christian Counselors sums it up best by saying that counselors should “expose” not “impose” their beliefs upon clients (2014). This statement gives the Christian counselor permission to share the Gospel in a way that is not intimidating or imposing on the values, rights, or beliefs of others.…

Ethics are moral principles that govern a person’s behavior. They were created from the branch of philosophy that evaluates moral behavior, concepts and language. Ethics are the basic perceptions and the essential principles of decent human conduct. Obtaining an “ethical life” involves: protecting, structuring, and endorsing concepts of right and wrong conduct. With that being said, it is crucial within the profession of counseling and psychotherapy to follow ethical standards and motives (Ethical Principles, 2010).…
