Let’s take a look at Tim Ferris “The 4-Hour Body.” This book takes sort of contrarian approach to training whether gaining weight or losing weight, but it is a great book that can provide you with helpful information. Tim Ferris makes the book to be more of like a reference book and he suggest to read only the sections that will help you out, for example if you’re interested in fat loss read that section, it was not intended to be read from cover to cover. However, there is the Fundamentals that Tim says everyone should read. I focused on the muscle building sections and a bit on the strength one, and those are the ones you will read about today.
First, we’re going to start with the Fundamentals section mentioned earlier. Tim focuses on the minimum effective dose throughout the book, the smallest amount needed to get the results you want. If you want to start exercising and changing your lifestyle you need to use the “sticky test” talked about in the book. The “sticky test” is finding a method that you can do, stick with, for the long run. Tim says, “The decent method you follow is better than the perfect method you quit.” This an extremely important idea because your ability to follow through with things, not just in fitness, but in life will determine your success. So, when looking for a program ask yourself if you are going to be able to actually stick with it, and think about what you are going to do after you complete the program.
