“George said that I’m supposed to stay away from you”.
The conversation continued until they were sitting close. They talked about their problems to one another. He was so devastated that he killed the puppy so she tried to cheer him up by letting him touch her soft hair. He loved the hair so much he wouldn't let go of it even when she told him to stop. He got carried away and one thing led to another. Next thing he knew, she didn't wake up. Lennie realized what he did and started to panic. All he could think of was what George told him “if you get into trouble you go to the bush where we camped out and wait until I show up”. He snuck out of the ranch and started running to the hiding place carrying a gun with him. Candy was looking for Lennie and went to the barn but found a surprise, curley's wife on the ground and no sign of breathing. He first told George and he would take care of it. In all of this chaos George made a huge decision and then Lennie was gone forever. The next step to George life is going to be tough and it will be sad at times but he will get by. * Slim and George enter the bar and get a couple of drinks.*
“How are you holding on?” asked
