Mercy killing (sometimes referred to as euthanasia) is when someone directly ends another person’s life, because they believe it is in their best intention in order to relieve pain and suffering from an incurable or terminal condition. In the beginning of the movie, it took long tiring days to get there to work. If they did escape, would George and Lennie be able to make it before Curley and the other guys caught up to him? I know if I had to shoot my best friend I would want to be the one that did it because I know I was their friend and I was the one that they trusted. Same goes for George when he killed Lennie; it would be super emotionaly to go through with it. But he did, he had to do it. We all know we aren’t all going to live forever; it’s just not going to happen, and death is one thing we have to face when its time. When it’s time to go it’s time to go. But George made sure before Lennie died, he wanted him to be relaxed and happy before it was Lennie’s time to
