Situated on the southeast coast of Spain, Barcelona offers all the experiences you’d expect of the Capital of Catalonia. Gothic cathedrals, picturesque Gaudi’s modern houses and the unspoilt Gothic quarter are all part of the magnificent cityscape, but the real delights of discovery lie in wandering the one point three-kilometres-long street called “La Rambla”.

Barcelona’s original name was “Barcino”, which was given by the founders: Phoenicians and Carthaginians. Nevertheless, in the first century B.C., the city was taken by the Romans, and in the third century they changed the capital from Tarraco to Barcino; after that, the city was occupied for a lot of civilizations until 9th century (the reconquest) , and in 988 achieved the independence

After having his men collect coquina, a shell stone that is soft and hardens with air over a period, they were ready to build the fort since there was enough lime waiting at the site. Antonio de Padua María Severino López de Santa Anna y Pérez de Lebrón, the general of the Mexican army, was intelligent, dynamic, ambitious, and egocentric. He was so smart that he dropped out of school and quit his apprenticeship to a merchant because he was intellectually unchallenged. Mabry, had an “immediate concern to be on the winning side in any battle… switching allegiance never troubled him.”…

Having the opportunity to feel as though you’ve truly made a positive impact on the lives of others is undoubtedly a rewarding experience, and this was exactly what I was seeking when I signed up for an eight day community service trip to Puerto Rico. What I ended up receiving, however, was far more enriching, humbling, and life-altering than I had originally expected. Our main task was to make batches of cement for houses a day in the community of Villa del Rillo. Lots of Puerto Rican houses, mostly in the poorer areas, still haven’t recovered from the effects of Hurricane Hugo, which hit the island almost three decades ago. Difficult manual labor directly under the oppressive heat for hours every day left us sore, dirty, and tired, but gratified.…
