Kitty O’Neil is a Texas native who was born on March 24, 1946. Her birthplace was Corpus Christi, Texas. Kitty was born to a Native American mother who raised her. This was said to be the reason for her tenacious approach to life. Kitty’s birth to her mother set the stage for her future. Kitty was raised by a Native American mom that pushed her to do things in life that she wanted to. Shortly after she was born, her father died in a plane crash. When Kitty was five months old she was struck by measles, mumps, and smallpox all at the same time. During her time ill she came down with a fever that damaged her ear drums so badly she became deaf. She broke the land speed record in a three wheeled hydrogen peroxide propelled drag car. When it was time for her to take the drive, a judge would have to count down with his fingers due to her not being able to hear at all. Kitty was also the stuntwoman for the Wonder Woman movie. Before her 28th birthday she had been diagnosed two times with cancer, she beat the disease both times and it hasn’t returned. As a child Kitty won an AAU title for diving in her home state of Texas.
