Keare Kerem's Role In The Nursery Environment

Kerem is a quite but at the same time friendly little boy who plays well in the nursery environment with and alongside other children. Kerem often needs support to separate from his mum when he comes to the nursery, but quickly settles in when his mum leaves. Kerem can take some time take a bit of time to open to unfamiliar people. Kerem is confident in the big environment and can access resources that he wants to use and play with to support his play. Kerem is confident to express his needs to an adult including when he wants a snack, toilet and even when he does not want to take part in an activity. He has built a strong bond with a special friend in the nursery with whom he plays with most of the time.
Kerem demonstrates physical and verbal communication while doing adult led activities and child led activities. Kerem can respond to simple and more complex instructions both indoors, for example, a simple instruction; can you come inside please or a more complex instruction; can you please come inside and take your jacket off.

While playing with the puppets and soft toy Kerem role plays by creating a story and changes his voice. To follow Kerem’s interest we frequently put the puppets in the book corner as this encourages Kerem to read as well and explore different puppets. Kerem also spends quite a bit of time in the home corner pretending to cook, Kerem said ‘I like to play in the home corner’.
Kerem is getting better every day at letter recognition and can recognise most the letters from the alphabet. Kerem is also starting to sound some of the letters and if he does not know the sound of the letter he will say the letter. Kerem has a lot started to write his name
