According to Gacy, his first victim’s blood made such a mess that he searched for a more efficient means to carry out his murders. Gacy began using a tourniquet on their throats while simultaneously rapping them. Gacy began burying his victims bodies in the crawl space of his home and kept several of their items in his bedroom. Some items that were found were rings and driver IDs. Gacy had buried so many bodies in his crawl space that he had ran out of room. He dumped his last five victims bodies into a nearby river. Gacy was discovered when police starting poking around after the disappearance of a young boy named Robert Piest. Police suspected Gacy was involved in the disappearance of Piest when his story had holes. After a second search warrant was issued police found human bones in his crawl space. By the time Gacy had been convicted of murdering 33 people, he had committed one of the worst serial killings in American history. When confessing and disclosing the location of his victims’ bodies, he showed no signs of emotion or remorse. [3]
