Summary Frank Timmons lived in a large metropolitan city and was the second youngest of thirteen children. His parents divorced and some of his siblings say their dad Billy was strict but the house was peaceful, others say he was verbally abusive and an alcoholic. His mother, Loretta, died when he was 12. The older siblings, mainly Margaret, took care of the younger siblings, though Margaret has many issues mentally and emotionally from possible sexual abuse and could not maintain relationships and jobs and may have ended up like their father. Frank played sports in school but did not graduate high school. The family had lived on DES subsidies and food stamps for the most part; this shows Frank’s family was not financially stable whatsoever. …show more content…
Other times he was arrested was a few years later for trespassing and driving under the influence. Not long after, Frank was charged with abducting a woman, raping her, and beating her with a heavy object. He made an excuse about the situation and ended up blaming the rape on two other men, but was still sentenced to prison; 15 years for abduction and 21 for robbery. While on parole he moved in with his wife, Jenny, where his neighbors knew he was a previous inmate but did not care because he was so friendly. He had forced three teenage girls to go behind a church and molested two of the three girls, then believed to have committed his first murder a month after. After that, he committed many robberies, sexual assaults, and eight more murders during the course of 11 months. Family and friends stated that they arrested the wrong man for the crimes and maintaining his innocence though there is evidence saying otherwise with eye-witnesses and shell casings from a gun they found in his …show more content…
In David Berkowitz’s situation, he, also, had lost his mother at a young age (Infamous serial killers, 2014). Even the recent school shooter Nikolas Cruz lost his mother. Troubled young individuals seem to not be able the handle the death of a parent well, especially their mothers. The most common trait I notice with serial murderers is that they all seem to have no remorse or empathy towards their crimes, showing psychopathic and antisocial personalities (Infamous serial killers, 2014). Many other cases involving similar crimes as Frank involve more than just murder. There is usually a pattern these serial murders enact, where usually start out smaller and work their way up or progress in their crimes. Petty theft, robberies, rape, assault, and murder are a few examples. Even though this is a frequent pattern, not every criminal commits all of these crimes and may commit other crimes I did not list, though it does seem to be a common trend to the progression to multiple murders (Infamous serial killers,
