Sensations can be defined as the passive process of bringing information from the outside world into the body and to the brain. The process is passive in the sense that we do not have to be consciously engaging in a "sensing" process. Perception can be defined as the active process of selecting, organizing, and interpreting the information brought to the brain by the senses. Perception is our way of making contact with our environment and discovering what is happening around us, and it is essential for us to have an accurate perception to survive. When the light goes on and camera pulls off, it brings a new visual analysis for us. The man seems small in the room and we tend to collect all the visual information in the room, along with all the everyday experience, such as rooms are always rectangular, the shapes of clock is always circle. When the man walks towards to the other side of the room, he seems to become a giant suddenly. The truth is that if we look the room is another perspective, the room is not rectangular at all and it is totally distorted. The clock on the one side of the room is a large oval and the other one that on the other side of the room is circular and the floor slopes up with, as we can see, the ceiling slopes downwards. The man is not growing bigger and bigger at all and we just misperceiving his size because we think that we are in the same distance
