My journey through the UCM CPPP program has been very transformational. I selected this program based on positive feedback from peers. I thought a journey into an administrative role could be a distant possibility, but I was quite content in my current role in the classroom. This program completely changed my perspective. Initially, I saw my impact in my classroom. I understood how things worked in my own classroom community, but I now realize that I did not have a sound understanding of the school and district as a whole. This program has broadened my thinking and reshaped the way I view public education. I believe that through the coursework and internship experiences I have become a much more mindful educator, and I have greatly increased my knowledge and experiences regarding public education. Now I understand the impact of positive educational leadership, and I feel ready to be an educational administrator.

Personally, I am a big picture thinker. I am able to think through issues from multiple perspectives, which helps when managing. I effectively use resources to stay organized. Another strength is my ability to find the bright spots and highlight strengths, which helps an organization move forward in a smooth manner. A weakness of mine is being able to actually hold people accountable for their actions. Since I tend to always believe the best about others, I can be guilty of making excuses for people.
