The areas at which I think I am most strong and that I know I can deliver really well is communication skills. Communication is important as it can help you with the verbal communication, managing conflict and other issues at which you will get whilst doing your job, dealing with clients and also talking to workers, being able to communicate with them and to get through the work that must be done as soon as possible.
Decision-making and judgement is important in this role because as a project manager, you should be able to come with alternatives, considering the pros and cons of what you are going to do. The topics in which I would have to roughly cover are the following: Building Services Engineering 2, Built Asset Management, Contract Administration and Law 2, Dissertation, Organisational Management, Project Evaluation and Development and Project Management 2. Adding to these studies, they will also tell us to spend our time in the industry. This is a bit like work experience.
This would be a boost for me for when I want to apply for a job because I have already done a few experiences from big construction companies and I did it last year as well. In this year, I was able to graduate at the University of Kingston. This was a big achievement for me as I had finally got my degree in project management. It was now time to apply for a job.
