Knowing the child’s individual needs:
Knowing the child’s individual needs is very important as it allows the practitioner to find out on what the child’s interests are but also to find out where the child is at with their Holistic development. Knowing the child’s development methods and stages will allow the practitioner to plan and carry out activities based on the child’s development methods and the practitioner should provide the suitable support if the child needs it and to know what tasks the child finds simple and other tasks the child find challenging. Partnerships can be between the practitioners and the parents or the practitioner and other professionals such as a support worker. Providing extra support will allow the child to have one to one time, where there are no other children involved. This can allow the child to put in their full potential which will help with their Holistic development. During one to one time the adult can provide the suitable resources for the child so they are able to have first-hand experiences they need. For example, for Mathematical development the resources could be anything from shapes to number lines. Also the use of Mathematical language will allow the children to become familiar with all the correct terms to use. According to Developmental Matters in the Early Years Foundation Stage, Early Education 2012 (Page 36) “Beginning to use mathematical names for ‘solid’ 3D shapes and ‘flat’ 2D shapes, and mathematical terms to describe shapes.” Beginning to use mathematical names for shapes will allow the children to describe the shape suitably with or without the support from the practitioner and other professionals and the child’s
