I observed Daphne, a preschooler, and her brother Damien, a toddler, at their home around 1 pm. They are siblings. The observation lasted 30 minutes. I sat down on the couch and observed them at playing wooden blocks. Once when I arrived at my friend’s house, my friend placed a big black container box at their playroom that contains of different shapes and sizes of wooden blocks. As their mom was putting at the center, Daphne and Damien were excited to go at the center to play these wooden blocks. Their floor is made of carpet. Daphne started to place a big rectangular wooden block vertically at her first base and got a bridge shape wooden block and placed it on top of the rectangle block. Then, she grabbed a short square wooden block and placed it on top of the bridge. Then, she suddenly got a small square block and placed it on top of the square block. She said to her mom, “Look, I made an Eiffel tower.” Then, her mom said, “good job sweetie.” While Daphne was making her tower, Damien also did his tower. He started to place a big rectangular wooden block horizontally as his first base. Second, he put a cylinder shape on top of the rectangle and placed another thin rectangular block, but his tower fell down. He pointed to his mom about the pieces that fell down. He said, “awww” like feeling disappointed. Then, his mom said, “You can do it.” Damien started to pick another wooden block to put his tower back. Suddenly, the tower of Damien fell down into Daphne’s tower.…
