History
Although the Pantheon was not just built once, it was destroyed and rebuilt twice. It was first built under the rule of Marcus Agrippa. It was just a rectangular building with a typical Greek styled temple. It burned down and all that remained was the front entrance. Domitian then rebuilt the Pantheon but was also burned down by a strike of lightning. Hadrian was the emperor that completely restored and rebuilt the Pantheon in Rome. The Pantheon is a remarkable architectural structure that was built between 125 and 128 CE. Hadrian was the ruler at this time in Ancient Rome. This made it seem to the people that the emperor was equal in statues and as divine as the other gods.
Introduction
The Pantheon upholds its reputation in being one of the best-preserved buildings being over 2,000 years old through its strong interior and exterior foundations. Through the Romans innovation in working with concrete and their amazing architectural skills it has sustained weathering and being altered in appearance. Because of its strong foundation through the Pantheon’s natural disasters and attacks it holds that antique and historic look and feeling.

If one wanted to walk through the Pantheon they would enter through the front porch and through the massive bronze doors. One would walk into a vast circular space with a dome on top. One would see all the marble and colors that were used to decorate the building. All the bright blues, yellows and purples used in the making of the columns. It is a radial building that radiates outward from the central point. This vast area could fit a perfect spherical figure inside of it. One would notice all the perfect geometrical shapes of the circles, rectangles and triangles. There are beautiful frieze and false windows. The dome, which is made of concrete, really sticks out to people eyes. The roman use of concrete really could shape space and made people have their own view on this structure. Everyone takes a moment to look up at the amazing oculus that is a perfect circle that connect us the “heaven”. It is noted that when visiting the Pantheon everyone stands under the beam of light created by the oculus holding out their arms like they are a
