When you are in a leadership position you have to take initiative to make sure everyone under your guide is understanding what you want them to do. To make sure you are getting your message across clearly, you can write down your message before giving it to people. Write down your intentions and your visions, because when you do this, it will give you clarity and purpose. Three documents that you should always have for a clear communication in a leadership position are a mission statement, a values statement, and a business plan. Mission statements define who you are and where you and your team is going. A value statement helps keep you and your employees reminded of why the company was started. He should start with either communicating with his employees electronically, or in meetings, the best solution for him would be to communicate electronically; that way he doesn’t have to deal with meeting with people separately, he could just send out a mass e-mail. It isn’t perfect but it’s a start and that is a good thing. Like when starting a new project, he could send out a mass e-mail and see if anyone wants to participate, but mostly it will be to just to keep his employees informed. He also needs to start communicating with his employees more than when there is a problem, and instead of telling them what needs to be fixed and how they should fix it. He should ask for their opinion on solutions or if they have any better ideas on how they could fix this problem more efficiently.
