How sports inspire people to overcome obstacles.
Having a disability can help motivate people to find their inner strength. In other words, when you have a disadvantage, it sometimes gives inspiration for people to show the world it’s not stopping them from what they want to do or succeed in. Having a disability can only stop you from what you don’t want to accomplish. Those that have tougher obstacles are ones that just have to work harder to get what they want, or where they want to be, and those are the ones that are strongest. A disability can be a tough task to overcome but anyone can do anything if they put their mind to it. Anthony Robles, a motivational speaker, claims “Every soul who comes to earth with a leg or two at birth must wrestle his opponents knowing it’s not what is, but what can be that measures worth. Jason Lester was 12 when he was hit off his bicycle by a car and left with 21 broken bones and a collapsed lung. Lester was a young athlete with dreams of becoming even a bigger athlete. The accident triggered Jason’s arm to be paralyzed, but he continued to go on and play basketball and football. Many people spoke highly about his determination and wanted to help him get into any sport that he could. He was destined to do something special with himself because of the horrific accident he was in. His dream was to be some kind of athlete. ”I’ve learned in 83 Days that this world functions off love and inspiration” (Lester). Lester loves waking up every day knowing his is a motivation in someone’s life, meaning that his story inspires many people that have disability’s, to go out and not be afraid to try and achieve their goals or dreams. Having a disability can sometimes inspire people to find their inner strength and accomplish their
