How Mrs. Jones Changed Roger In Thank You M Am, By Langston Hughes

Mrs. Jones changed Roger in a huge way, but how was she able to do this? This is the question that I hope to answer throughout this essay. I think it was Mrs. Jones’ kindness and affection that changed Roger. In the short story “Thank You M’am” by Langston Hughes, Mrs. Jones changed Roger throughout the story. This change started with Roger being a thief. When she caught Roger he kept trying to escape the women. In the middle of the story Roger changed into being a boy who didn’t trust Mrs. Jones. At the end he was finally able to connect to Mrs. Jones and start being thankful the kindness she showed him. This story is just the perfect example that shows that a little kindness can change people in a big way.
