How Legal And Regulatory Framework Impact On Human Resource Management
In the process of human resource management, the HR managers need to adhere to different laws and standards which are being developed for the welfare of employees and protecting their interests at the workplace. Similarly, a range of employee protection laws are followed in the HR management curriculum of M&S and the different laws are briefly discussed below.
Relations Amendment Act 2000 – This is the act developed for strengthening relations with the employees and not practicing any unlawful discrimination on the basis of race, nationality, and color and this law is the improvisation of the Race Relations Act 1976. The following of same helped the management of M&S to control conflicts from race discriminations and is to promote racial equality (Wright & McMahan, 2011).
Equal Pay Act 1970–This act is developed by UK Parliament from restricting any unbiased pay system and employment conditions on the basis of gender discrimination. The adherence to this law by the company helped it elevating in management performance.
