The Women Who Served in Vietnam In the Vietnam War, there were lots of soldiers but few were women most soldiers were men. Even though there wasn’t many women who served in the Vietnam War, the small amount of those women who did made a huge impact.The famous women, the jobs that women did, and how they were treated affected the war in many ways. The Donut Dollies worked hard to cheer the soldiers and mellow them out. Mainly the Donut Dollies purpose was to boost the soldiers morale and make him or her feel better.Anna mae hays was the first woman to become a General in 1942. Anna mae hays was a hero to our country she served in many wars including World War II and the Korean War. Anna mae hays became chief of the Army Nurse corps in 1967. she upped recruitment efforts to send more nurses to the vietnam war and she visited the country several times during conflict to asses the state of other nurses.Writes Begley.
