There has been a growing demand for retail business across the globe in the past few decades. Hence, companies are expanding and changing in tandem with technological changes to meet the needs of the consumers, stay innovative and maintain their competitive edge in the global market. These particular changes help in preparing retail business to operate smoothly, efficiently and effectively alongside making it realize success. This particular paper will give information about how being an executive of XYZ, Inc., a high end retail chain selling luxury watches, jewelry as well as handbags enabled me to make short term and small scale changes in our first international store based in Shanghai, China; then later on long term and large scale changes within the firm by opening up stores in Brazil, Russia and India, other (BRIC) Countries. It will also discuss the change models that were used during the short term and long term changes and the effects of the changes to the organization.
