Ever since same-sex marriage has been legalized in some countries, the concept of homosexuality became a hot issue all over the world. Of course, there are many people who support homosexuality and same-sex marriage when there are also many people who do not. Homosexual activists often argue that they have their own rights to enjoy sexual “freedom” and that their human rights should be protected. In contrast, people who are against homosexuals and same-sex marriage emphasize that homosexuality is unnatural, immoral, and wrong. While the debate is still going on, several perspectives, including social sciences, applied sciences, and diversity component proved that homosexuality brings negative influences to other people. While homosexuals should not be judged harshly because of their sexual orientations and sexual preferences, people should know the fact that homosexuality and same-sex marriage affect society in a negative way.
First of all, many researchers emphasize that same-sex marriage can bring harmful consequences to the children whose parents have same genders. In the article, “Defending Traditional Marriage,” the researcher from American College of Pediatricians showed that children, who were raised by same-sex couples, were more likely to behave in an illegal or a delinquent manner than children who were raised by opposite-sex couples.
