Happiest Places on Land and Sea Walt Disney once said, “Growing old is mandatory, but growing up is optional” (“A Quote by Walt Disney”). With this in mind, he began a franchise that started with cartoons and full-length animated movies and progressed into vacation experiences for the young and young at heart. Disney’s first foray into a family recreation venue was Disneyland. A little over 40 years later, Disney’s first cruise ship set sail. While either a Disneyland or Disney cruise vacation would be appealing to any Disney enthusiast, one needs to look at the similarities and differences to decide which is best for her family. Disneyland Resort, located in Anaheim, California, was designed by Walt Disney as a park where families could enjoy spending time together. Walt Disney created Disneyland in 1955 and considered it “The Happiest Place on Earth.” From early morning to late in the night, families can explore Disneyland and experience everything it has to offer. Amusement park rides are found all around. Each and every attraction is based on a Disney movie or character. When guests get exhausted from riding on attractions, they can head to any of the food areas located throughout park. Visitors have a wide array of options when it comes to nourishment, from grabbing a corn dog and sitting on a bench to dining on steak and lobster at a uniquely themed restaurant inside one of the rides.
