When he gets there, Faber tells him he's leaving the next morning to find the printer. He then finds out there's a new hound after him. He tells Faber to get rid of any evidence he was there and starts running away. He manages to cross the river that outlines the city, thus getting rid of the hound after him. He gets to the unused train rails outside the city and follows them until he meets a group of runaways, just like him, led by a man named Granger. They are a part of a nationwide network of book lovers who memorize books in hopes of being able to reprint them one day. Suddenly, enemy jets appear in the sky, eradicating the city with their bombs. Montag and his new group go on to search for survivors and rebuild
