Mildred and his boss Captain Beatty. Ray Bradbury, the author, writes about Montag and his transformation throughout the novel. This story relates to today’s society a lot, we entertain ourselves with technology but we still have many rules. Guy Montag transforms throughout the novel Fahrenheit 451 because of the influence of others, personal experiences, and events that happened in the story.

He was losing that mentality that bad things can not happen to him, he was viewing this as society would have done.
Montag now knows that he is not the same as everyone else “And as before, it was good to burn, he felt himself gush out in the fire, snatch, rend, rip in half with flame, and put away the senseless problem,” (110). Montag is burning all ties to society; he has fully changed into his new self. When Beatty tells Montag that they were going to burn Faber, this really upsets
Montag “[He] shot one continuous pulse of liquid fire on him,” (113). Montag was putting Faber before himself and that is when Montag murders Beatty. Montag now understands that he has changed and he wants to change the society, where everyone can read books.
