How Did Guy Montag Change In Fahrenheit 451

In the story Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, society was much different than the society we live in today.In Raybradburys’s predictionof the future nobody in all of America read books, being smart and thinking was frowned upon. The firefighters didn’t fight fires,unlike firefighters today they started the fires. The things firefighters turned to ashes was books. Books are illegal to own in bradbury’s book. If someone finds out you have books, firefighters come to your house burn your books and arrest you. The cause of all this was technolgy, and wanting everybody to be equal. Guy Montag the main character in Ray bradbury novel, Changed dramatically throughout the course of the book. Guy Montag was a typical citizen in the beginning of Fahrenheit 451, he didn’t stand out. Montag went along with everything he was told, he never second guess anything. The only thing really unique about him was he’s a firefighter. When the fire department got a call, he would go burn the books. Montag didn’t really think about burning books, it was his job so he did it. The thing that sparked this change in Montag was a girl he meet named Clarisse. Clarisse was a young girl montag meet while walking home from work. Clarisse was much different from other people her age, she thought about things, and asked a lot of questions. Montag started thinking about the question Clarisse asked him. He had never thought about the things she asked and began to wonder himself. Another thing that changed Montag was when he tried to burn a women’s books but she refuse to leave the books, and lit the books with her on top of them killing herself. Montag wonder what would possess someone to kill themselves over books. He thought what was inside those books that was so special. The curiosity overcame Montag, he started reading books
