Gun Control and debating whether they should be stricter has been a debate that has lasted for Centuries, and waiting and not making any progress and letting mentally ill individuals, criminals and drug abusers get a hold of a gun or an assault weapon that can bring harm to innocent people living their normal life is selfish and ludacris. Having stricter gun laws would accomplish so much, it would prevent 353 mass shootings and many suicides. There were 464,033 total gun deaths between 1999 and 2013 and 270,237 suicides which is 58.2% of all suicide deaths and 174,773 homicides and 9,933 unintentional deaths (gun-control.procon.org/). Making stricter gun laws would reduce these numbers immensely. Having better background checks would prevent dangerous individuals, such as criminals, mentally ill, drug abusers and perpetrators of domestic violence. Weapons should not be sold not be sold by a private sellers or online because it creates an opportunity for dangerous people to bypass a background check with no questions asked. The presence of a gun makes a conflict more likely to become violent. The FBI found that in 2013 argument such as romantic triangles and brawls caused and fueled by drugs and alcohol, and arguments over money resulted in 1,962 gun deaths 59.9% of the total. Two thirds of the 7,900 deaths in 1981 involving arguments and brawls were caused by guns. If these individuals aren't allowed allowed to own firearms it would prevent a lot of gun violence. If gun store owners and big companies weren't so stubborn and ignorant and don't let criminals and mentally ill people get a hold of a firearm we would have a lot less violence.
